History

The background of the two companies that make up our business is the perfect blend of long established experience and the dynamic approach of the relatively new operator.

 

 Culina Logistics Limited was created in 2008, when ambient distributor Baylis Logistics joined forces with Culina Logistics, the chilled supply chain specialist.

This created a unique multi temperature supply chain solution provider in the food and drink sector.

Baylis has its origins in Bristol, where it was established as a transport company in 1939.

Since then, the company evolved into a leading provider of shared-user services in the ambient grocery sector.

Culina was formed in the UK in 1994 to provide a high quality 0-5°C temperature controlled supply chain service.

The company soon became established as a leading chilled logistics specialist offering a range of services to food and drink manufacturers and importers nationwide.

Last year we opened a major new site at Haverhill in East Anglia to provide enhanced services in the southeast. It is our ninth facility.

We also announced a landmark deal with Wincanton that involved us merging their chilled consolidation activities into our supply chain operation with effect from 28 March 2009.

As part of our long term business development plan, we've relocated our operations covering the southwest from Pucklechurch to a new distribution centre in Bristol, which offers ambient and chilled services.
